Saturn was born in Cape Town in 2022 under the name W 3 O L A B S, with a single thesis: blockchain technology could solve real problems in Africa. And it did. We incubated 140+ startups, built a 2000+ strong Web 3.0 community, helped 10+ founders raise capital from major VCs, and developed programs reaching builders across Africa, LATAM, and SEA.
But as the technology landscape expanded, so did our ambition. Blockchain technology was just the first frontier. AI, fintech, stablecoins, the opportunities multiplied and so did the founders chasing them.
W 3 O L A B S was built for one world. Saturn was built for the universe. Today we operate across three verticals: Saturn Ventures backs early stage founders, Saturn Ecosystem advises corporates and institutions, and Saturn Foundation develops the next generation of African entrepreneurs.
Saturn gives us the room to build what comes next, across every frontier.

Saturn Ventures deploys smart capital into early stage founders building across fintech, AI, and Web3. We sit close to every portfolio company, bringing hands on support across strategy, fundraising, and go to market, backed by a network and ecosystem we've spent years building.
Our team carries deep experience across both emerging technology and institutional finance. We understand the landscape, we understand the risk, and we structure our investments for competitive market related returns.
We are looking for founders with a clear thesis, a real problem, and the conviction to see it through.

Saturn Ecosystem is our advisory and connectivity arm.
We connect people to technology and bridge the gap between innovation and implementation.
We work across three areas:

Saturn Foundation is our CSI arm and our longest bet on Africa's future.
We run programs for aspiring tech entrepreneurs aged 18 to 25 – giving them the skills, mentorship, and network to build real tech companies. We partner with universities and institutions across South Africa to reach the founders who need it most.
The Foundation exists because the pipeline matters. The best investment we can make in Africa's tech future is the people who will build it.
